Where should diamond exploration geologists go to find new deposits? What rock types should they consider as diamond prospective?
Thomas Stachel and his co-workers at the University of Alberta show that a rock type in the mantle called lherzolite can also host economic quantities of diamond. Lherzolite was previously overlooked in favour of harzburgite and eclogite.
